In winter of 2021, as I was recovering from knee surgery and longing to find meditative ways to channel my creative energy and express myself more fully, I said YES to something out of my comfort zone - a Spirit Dolls needle-felting class with Julia Inglis of Sacred Familiar. Not knowing what I was getting into, I was beyond delighted to find a new channel for my intention setting and listening practice. 

 

These dolls are supportive talisman and altar pieces to support with specific threshold moments of life. The entire doll is made of wool and includes offerings placed in the center of the doll along with intention. The base of the doll, dressing, colors, symbols and other adornments are chosen by deep listening and intuition while holding the intention of the one who the doll is being made for. 

 

What I love most about this process is that you never know what the doll will look like until it’s complete. It’s all an unfolding, step by step process. Listening and trusting spirit to guide the process and design that is in the highest good for the recipient.
