ABOUT JEN

My search for holistic healing modalities started around 18 years old but it wasn’t until I was introduced to Shiatsu Therapy (a bodywork modality based in Chinese Medicine) at age 25 that life started to make sense. Finally a system that was rooted in the mind, body, spirit connection! This began my studies around supporting others to connect and be with what is present while also listening to the inherent wisdom of the physical and emotional body.

Over the last 20 years I’ve attended numerous trainings in bodywork, energy medicine, life and health coaching, spiritual healing and more.

In 2019, my life changed forever when my mother died. This loss brought me a whole new kind of confusion and grief. Navigating the loss of a parent threw me in a deeper search around how to be with even more complicated and messier emotions.

Weekend long grief rituals came into my life shortly after she died and these rituals continue to be an essential anchor in my life to this day. I have no idea where I’d be today without this potent, sacred container that holds everyone who attends with such deep care. The way it weaves gentleness and fierceness is astounding to me and I’m fully committed to supporting this work in any way I can.

After navigating the death of my father in 2020, it became clear that part of my mission in life is to help create a grief and death honoring culture. More than ever we need more brave spaces to express and BE with our deep sorrow, confusion, shock, numbness and everything in between that shows up as we walk through this complicated, intense and messy life.

You might wonder how that relates to how I hold space for Intuitive Life Coaching clients. When we acknowledge and feel the truth that another day isn’t guaranteed and invite that into the foundation of our work, it brings level of sacredness to the sessions. When we long to make changes and shifts in our life, it’s helpful to hold and remember that we don’t have this life forever. Although difficult to be with at times, it’s becomes a barrier to getting clear and taking action, if we don’t. So many of us feel that we have all the time to do those things that we feel called to do. We tell ourselves, “I’ll do that after the kids are grown”, or “after I retire.” Next year, next month, tomorrow. The truth is: Not a single day is guaranteed. . . . This is what it means to give grief and death a seat at the table of life - to remember and honor this truth and then bring curiosity to what is and isn't aligned with our needs and values.
